group classes description

Reformer Level 1-2

Instructor: Barb Constant

Beginning/ Intermediate Reformer. This class introduces you to the Reformer which helps you to strengthen your core, improve back stability and create a long, lean, supple look to your body. Clients move through exercises lying face down, face up, sitting and standing.

Clients who have perfected Reformer level 1-2 and have been given permission can then move into this advanced level of Reformer IT.

Reformer IT Level 2

Instructor: Barb Constant

Reformer IT combines the reformer with Jumpboard. Jumpboard is a padded board attached to the Pilates reformer which enables participants to jump supine against the board and spring resistance of the reformer providing a terrific cardio and core workout. It is a low-impact, high intensity interval workout that delivers a great cardio boost for Pilates students, and ideal strength-training for runners, dancers, and athletes. Choreography is adapted to the level of the class enabling instructors to provide a safe workout to anyone that jumping is not contraindicated.

It will boost your metabolism, bone density, leg strength, foot strength, core stability, power and jumping technique, and have fun doing it.

Mat & Oov Level 1-2

Instructor: Barb Constant

Mat and the Oov are the perfect combination! This course focuses on exercises on using pilates inspired mat exercises with the Oov , that promote joint mobility and stability, endurance, strength and proper alignment.

The Oov is made from highly durable foam to complement the natural curve of the spine, The Oov works by activating core stabilizing muscles while also gently extending the spine to stimulate healthy intervertebral disc lubrication. Your abdominals will have never felt anything like this.

Circuit Level 1-2

Instructor: Barb Constant

The tower apparatus is sleek and lean, just like the muscles it will help you sculpt. The majority of Tower exercises focus on one area of the body at a time, making it easier to isolate muscle groups Unlike Pilates Mat and Reformer workouts, there is no set classical order for the Tower exercises. This means that beginner Tower students enjoy a much lower learning curve.

The Chair is considered to be the most challenging piece of Pilates equipment in terms of building strength in the legs and shoulders. Exercises on the Chair are great for skiers, runners, tennis players, golfers and for clients looking to increase power in the upper body for throwing, lifting and racquet sports.
